From the lady who gave us Ouisie’s Table comes this delightful new restaurant named The Bird and The Bear.

“I like the food here equally, I mean I like them both but this one’s more upbeat,” says Sissy Twining.

Before we get to the food what are the bird and the bear?

“I wanted a masculine and a feminine and the bird is the feminine, moi and the masculine is Wafi Dinari my partner,” says co-owner/executive chef Elouise Jones. “So it represented both of us.”

The food is also a mix of both cultures with southern American and Moroccan influence.

The dishes here also have unique names like ‘The Damn Eggplant’.

“My mother would try to fix the eggplant that her mother-in-law made and after a while my father started calling it damn eggplant because it was so mysterious and hard to duplicate.”

With the kitchen as the centerpiece of this restaurant, it’d be hard for anything else to steal the attention. Well maybe the artwork? We mean the artwork on the ceiling!

“I fell in love with these chairs and I bought them even though I didn’t have a place for them in my house or in the restaurant.”

So what better place to place the chairs than amongst the chandeliers?!

“Then that led to the table, somebody said well if you’ve got two chairs you need a table. And I couldn’t agree more. So then we got one of the tables from the restaurant and I painted it and we hung it.”

So there you have it, Ouisie’s Table created by Ouisie herself.
