On January 15, 1967, a crowd of more than 61,000 gathered at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for a sporting event. As the crowd watched the Green Bay Packers beat the Kansas City Chiefs, we wonder if anyone was aware that they had just been a witness to history…The first Super Bowl.
74-year-old Don Crisman can tell you, because he was there.
This Sunday will be Super Bowl 46 and it’ll also be the 46th time Crisman has been to the Super Bowl.
Yep, that’s right; the Maine native has never missed the big game.
Crisman is a founding member of the "Never Missed A Super Bowl" club. The four members were featured in a Visa credit card commercial last year which has made him somewhat of a celebrity.
"I can't walk into the Walmart in Biddeford without 20 people coming up and shaking my hand and saying, you know, 'Are you gonna make it this year?'"
Crisman plans to keep up his streak until he makes it to at least Super Bowl 50.
"Super Bowl 36, 38 and 39 are my favorites."
But our favorite is the first one because tickets only cost $12 bucks.
Now only corporate fat cats can afford to see the game...Face value $1200 bucks each!
